Bukiwe Lupindo: this former high school teacher from the Eastern Cape is now using the power of computers to decode the mysteries of biology – in other words, bioinformatics. She can use computers to assess genetic combinations that would have taken a lifetime just a few years ago. She works with computational biologists at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
