How to Embed a YouTube video in PowerPoint

Here I’ll show you two ways to embed a YouTube video in PowerPoint. I’m using PowerPoint 2003. If you don’t have the “custom” properties box I’ll show you an alternate method.

Okay, I’ve yet to try this and before I do I have just one question: Can I somehow save the video into a file so that should the actual video be removed by YouTube, I can still watch it? Please reply soon!

There are some applications for saving flash movies. I have not tried any of them yet. Best of luck.

I don’t have a custom box so I pasted the edited URL into the movie box and changed play and loop to false. Then what? Do I paste anything onto the slide? I tried to just view slideshow and got a plain white slide and nothing else.

Check that you have modified the URL correctly. Save your powerpoint and try again. Have fun and good luck!

No worries if you don’t have a custom box. At minute 1:47 I show you how to do it if your version doesn’t have “custom” box. You’ll just paste the URL in the “movie” box and set “playing” to false and “loop” to false.

    Thanks for the tips… also…
It works great if you use “zillatube” :—)
It helps you convert to mpg format and embed into powerpoint easily,
and present them offline without the internet at all.

Also helps you play them. (and also convert them) e.g. convert to mp4 or mp3 for ipod/itunes, mp3 player, mpg for windows movie maker editing/windows media player, USB flash drive, handphone, and more)

just google search for “zillatube”, and select the first search result for download…
