I’m not sure what you mean by

“You lose a stop with teleconverters? I always thought that they cut the maximum aperture in half”

Those two statements contradict themselves. a 1.4 converter will cut your max. aperture from 2.8 to 4. You are losing a stop of light. If your max aperture on the lens is 4, you would go to 5.6.

    Hope that helps!

No. You screw it right into the monopod/tripod lens mount on the camera. You can add one, but most people don’t.

Probably. He did say “latest quote ‘greatest’ Canon” bodies. Safe to assume he had AF problems before shooting this video because he doesn’t seem to thrilled to have these so called “latest and ‘greatest’ Canon cameras.”

Well, the bag and monopod combine for half the cost of a used 70-200 ….so maybe not.

I bought the Airport Security V2 a few months ago and it was $380.00

How are you able to get passes to photograph for events?
I usually network with people and I’m able to slip right threw without having a pass, but just incase I’m on an assignment and I don’t have connections for that event, how would I be able to receive one?
    Thanks and nice vid!

the cut depends on the converter:
with the 1.4x converter your max. aperture will be multiplied by 1.4 (2,8 becomes 4 etc.), a 2x teleconverter would make a 2,8 a 5,6 max aperture.

Every major event normally has a press-officer or PR. You’d need to contact them. Beware however, they normally only allow photographers who can bring some publication to the event. Depending on the size of the event, depends on which publication they see fit.

What do you think about the Body Mount Supporter ( CameraEQM ) when doing sport photography for your heavy lenses ?

in order to get a press pass you need a news paper or wire service to back you up and say that you are covering the event for them.

    Hey people…

He does not own that equipment, Getty Images own it. Do you think Getty lets every photographer keep the gear after letting them go for whatever reason?

If you worked for Mercedez Benz and left, do you think you would be driving away in a Benz? c’mon now people.

He said the bodies were “issued to” him , so I would assume yes. If you’re freelance and own your own stuff you keep it obviously.

Any current Canon EOS digital camera can fit to use on this lens, its heavy peace of lens but who’s gonna hand held a 400mm lens? even Shwarzeneger will get cramps hand holding this. Anyhow yes you can use any eos dslr on this lens with a tripod or a monopod though.
