wow. so those are called Triads huh. Ive been playing for like 7 years.. but ive had no lessons or any theory. latley i just told my self i better pick up some theory on good ol you tube. i picked up the triads by ear, i had no idea what they were called, but they are very fun to play for raggae. i know alot of diffrent scales, chords and modes i guess u can say, classical style, neo classical style, arabic style, blues, metal, rock jazz but i have no idea in words what im playing LOL

well if you are going out to buy guitar supplies for the first time…you dont want to buy an expensive guitar because if you’re on a budget that means that you are going to cheap out on the amp….and thats bad…but same rule applies with an expensive amp…if you buy an expensive amp….you’re more than likely going to cheap out on the guitar…thats bad….

Whats “expensive” regarding guitars, because im currently waiting for Roland Cube 30x to be shipped here and I was planning ons pending my tax return on a guitar.

You could get a pretty damn good guitar for about 300 to 500 dollars, Granted its going to be made in Mexico or china or something but some of them are really good for beginners to intermediate players

You’ll outgrow the cube in about 1 or 2 years – you’ll wanna upgrade to a middle of the road combo amp around $700. So get a guitar that will match that (ie. a middle of the road guitar. Which, as the guy below said – you can get a pretty damn good guitar for $500 – even $400 if you do research, Any more is overkill for a beginner. But any less will cause problems – real cheap guitars are difficult to play even for good players – not worth bothering with. Best buy I ever made was Ibanez SZ320

I was thinking of getting that Ibanez or a Epiphone Gibson SG

ive never seen the SG but Ive got the Ibanez (gold top) and its the one guitar I’d keep if i had to sell all but 1 (Ive got 10).

Ive had a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul Studio and I like the Ibanez better – and its 1/3 the price – EXCELLENT guitar!

The tritone is a very common interval; each and every dominant seventh chord contains one.

700 is a lot of money for a beginner. I know pro players who use cubes for practice.
